Certified Government Financial Manager preferred

Education
✓Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area
Qualifications
✓7 or more years of experience in an organization comparable to UCSF in terms of size, complexity, and scope of operation
✓4 or more years’ experience in a leadership role in a large diversified and complex finance focused environment, requiring motivating and managing a diverse group of people towards a common goal
✓Knowledge of large scale integrated ERP financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday, SAP)
✓Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, business and systems operations and regulatory
✓compliance requirements
✓Thorough understanding and familiarity with all of GAAP, GASB, and FASB
✓Proven ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
✓Demonstrated experience with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related presentations, and detailed variance analysis
✓Demonstrated experience with improving business processes and accounting policies, to ensure efficient and effective internal controls, data integrity and compliance with internal and
✓external policies and requirements
✓Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and document financial results trends and variances timely (on an ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis)
✓Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms with executive, senior management, faculty, staff, managers and technical staff
✓Demonstrated ability to develop solutions that meet the needs of customers with diverse skill sets in a decentralized environment
✓Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels.
✓Ability to work well in a collegial environment
✓Excellent service orientation skills; strong skills in management and leadership; excellent ability to use critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills to creatively solve problems

About the role
Involves accounting functions such as analyzing, monitoring, preparing and reconciling financial information to reflect the condition of the organization and provide financial and other statistical data to control operations. Also may involve preparation of financial reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
