Activity Assistant II at NHC HealthCare Lexington NHC Healthcare Lexington, located at 2993 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia, SC is looking for an Activity Assistant II to join our fun team and assist in providing therapeutic programs which meets each patient's "individual" needs while providing an atmosphere of FUN and ENJOYMENT and other duties as requested. Applicant must have a desire to work with seniors, be compassionate, caring, and creative.
The ideal candidate must be creative, energetic, and have knowledge of the domains of wellness as it relates to programming in long term care. Your goal would be to provide daily meaningful activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Specifically, you are responsible for: Assessing patients to determine activity interest and needs Provide therapeutic activities which meet the individual interest and needs Provide activities which meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual needs of patients while providing an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment Maintain all required records Maintain good public relations with the community by contacting and informing local clubs, businesses, schools, etc. of center services and goals Attending center meetings as required Be aware of the NHC standards and abide by the Better Way promises Be aware of and follow all state, federal, company and center policies and procedures Be aware of and follow HIPAA regulations Other important skills are: Sense of humor with the ability to laugh at success and failure Must be self-motivated, creative with a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm with a willingness to learn innovative ideas and skills Possess patience and good organizational skills, assertiveness and be a conscientious person Present a professional appearance.
Flexibility in working hours so that weekend or evening events may be provided.
