Acute Care Tech - Float Pool

As an Acute Care Tech in the Bethesda North Float Pool , you will provide hands ‑ on support by assisting with basic activities of daily living and performing designated treatments and procedures under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will also help maintain smooth unit operations by completing non ‑ direct patient care tasks as needed, including stocking, organizing supplies, and supporting essential clerical duties.

2 years High School Education Age 17 with work permit Basic Life Support (BLS) Reading and math ability appropriate to the position

• Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks in which the PCA has been trained. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe. Seeks clarification from the nurse when in doubt about how to proceed. Maintains a safe environment. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Completes safety event report as necessary. Complies with Infection Control policies.
