You’ll need
Licensure
✓Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kentucky required.
✓Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner required.
✓DEA license required within 6 months from date of eligibility.
Education
✓Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited advanced practice nursing program required.
Qualifications
✓Clinical experience in oncology, radiation oncology, or a closely related specialty.
✓Knowledge of cancer diagnoses, radiation therapy principles, treatment protocols, and common acute and long-term treatment-related toxicities.
✓Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive health assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and develop evidence-based plans of care.
✓Skill in managing cancer-related symptoms and radiation treatment side effects, including pain, fatigue, skin reactions, gastrointestinal symptoms, and hematologic complications.
✓Strong patient and family education skills, including the ability to communicate complex clinical information clearly and compassionately.
✓Effective clinical judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
✓Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
✓Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
✓Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and use electronic health record systems effectively.
✓Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, confidentiality, and culturally responsive care.
