Licensure
✓West Virginia Office of EMS Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license or successfully obtain within 30days of hire and renewed every two years
✓The EMS clinician must maintain the professional standards required to successfully obtain and maintain certification and licensure as an AEMT.
✓Maintaining West Virginia AEMT licensure through the West Virginia Office of EMS.
✓Maintaining eligibility for licensure under West Virginia law and regulations.
✓Possession of a state EMS certification or National Registry certification alone does not grant authorization to perform clinical skills within Monongalia EMS.

✓National Registry of EMTs Advanced Emergency Medical Technician registration and renewed every two (2) years
✓Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) certification or successfully obtain within thirty (30) days of hire and renewed every four (4) years
✓Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (or equivalent) certification or successfully obtain within 30 days of hire and renewed every two (2) years
✓Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or equivalent) certification or successfully obtain within thirty (30) days of hire and renewed every two (2) years
✓Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within two (2) years of certification date
✓Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent, or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within 2 years of certification date

✓High school diploma or equivalent
✓Associate or bachelor or graduate level degree from an accredited post-secondary educational
Qualifications
✓Valid Driver’s License with driving record acceptable by motor vehicle insurance carrier
✓West Virginia Office of EMS Blood Endorsement (Assistant) or successfully obtain within one (1) year of hire and renewed annually
✓Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) or successfully obtain within thirty (30) days of hire within (1) month of hire
✓IS 100: Introduction to the ICS System
✓IS 200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
✓IS 700: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
✓IS 800: National Response Framework, an Introduction
✓NIMS 800: National Response Framework, an Introduction
✓Unencumbered ability to practice Emergency Medical Services within the State of WV and be in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local statutes, rules, and regulations
✓Background check that does not demonstrate a threat to public safety, health, or welfare nor an unwillingness to comply with state laws, rules, procedures, etc.
✓Not have been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving or other vehicular violation causing bodily injury or death within the two years prior to hire
