✓Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor certification
✓Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Current American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor preferred
Workplace violence certification, MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) Instructor Certification or other Crisis de-escalation instructor credentials preferred
Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P), Registered Nurse (RN), or similar clinical certification and experience preferred
Education
✓High School diploma
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Qualifications
✓Minimum five (5) years of related work experience, including two (2) years providing clinical education
✓Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner
✓Ability to teach effectively in an adult learning environment
✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✓Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities
✓Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. preferred
