ResponsibilitiesThe AHA Instructor, under the direction of the UFHCF Corporate Director of Clinical Education, is responsible for teaching American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) training courses.
The AHA Coordinator provides scheduling and class instruction opportunities to the AHA Instructor. The position is responsible for providing high quality instruction while demonstrating professionalism and accountability. The AHA Instructor will:Teach AHA certification classes effectively and with enthusiasm to engage studentsFacilitate video presentations, instructor lectures, skills demonstrations, testing students, answering questions, remediating when appropriate, and completing post-course rosters, paperworkPhysically demonstrate correct mannequin skills on all mannequins (infant, child, adult) on the ground/floor and tableSubmit all required documentation timelySet up, clean, and store equipment appropriately and independentlyCommunicate effectively with AHA Coordinator, Clinical Education Director, fellow instructors, and UFHCF Team MembersThis is a PRN Day Shift position.
QualificationsEducationHigh School diploma or equivalentLicensure/Certification/RegistrationCurrent license as Paramedic in the State of Florida required OR Current license as an LPN or RN in the State of FloridaAmerican Heart Association provider certification required for:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)American Heart Association instructor certification required for:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience RequiredMust be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be computer literate and have ability to use email, and online programs regarding training classes and documentationMinimum 2 years American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification requiredMinimum 2 years recent pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS) response required
