AHN System Chair, Department of Medicine - Allegheny Health Network, formerly entitled, Medicine Institute primarily located at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, seeks a highly skilled and compassionate physician leader with expertise in Medicine. This position offers a System Chair leadership role in a growing and dynamic Medicine program dedicated to clinical and translational research as well as exceptional patient care. The Chair will work with other leaders to develop and implement strategy and processes for patient care. The Chair shall also maintain all current and future standards of care, both inpatient and outpatient as well as accreditations needed to assure service for the region. The Chair will assume responsibilities for research and development within the division and connect these activities to the larger goals of AHN. The successful candidate will be considered for the role of AHN System Chair, Department of Medicine. Highlights:
Team Structure: In partnership with the service line vice president, overseeing 271 physicians and 127 APP’s within the department
Academic and/or mentoring opportunity: Mentoring trainees in Medicine Duties:

Mentoring and development of physician staff and team
Prepare all necessary documentation including, but not limited to orders, consents, charges and medical documentation
Responsible for directing all activities related to maintaining and advancing patient care within the department
Oversee all programmatic and operational aspects of the Department of Medicine
Participate in regional, national, and international meetings
Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows
Contribute to research activity within the department, including investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group and industry-sponsored clinical trials, laboratory investigation, and publication of research findings
