Education
✓High School diploma or G.E.D
Associate or bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
Qualifications
✓2+ years medical office experience to include the following: Face to face customer service, cash handling, patient registration, appt. scheduling, medical billing, & experience in answering a multi-line telephone system or 1+ years KSC Experience as an Ambulatory Service Representative II
✓EMR experience
✓Familiarity with medical terminology
✓MS Word and Excel
✓Proven excellent customer service skills in person and over the telephone
✓Proven fluent in English, verbal and written
✓Proven professional demeanor and appearance
✓Bilingual- English and Spanish communication skills (oral and written) possesses the interpersonal skills which are required to interact with internal and external contacts in a courteous and patient focused manner
3+ years of working in a physician, hospital, or medical office environment preferred
2+ years of insurance/managed care experience, to include insurance verification, being able to identify, communicate/articulate and understand the difference between insurance plans (HMO, PPO, EPO, etc.) preferred
Epic experience preferred
Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and web/Internet preferred
Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues preferred
Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information preferred
Proven ability to effectively handle challenging situations and to balance multiple priorities preferred
