✓Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing
✓Active, unrestricted Nurse Anesthetist licensure in California
✓Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in California
✓Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing
Certifications
✓Current National Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists
✓Current American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare providers
✓Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
✓Current American Heart Association PALS certification
✓UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) to practice and function in their clinical role.
✓This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.
✓Credentialing takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
✓You will be assigned an FPPE template of procedures for CRNAs, but you may add additional privileges on request with an explanation of the purpose.
Education
✓Graduation from a school of anesthesia accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Schools of Anesthesia
✓Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist program

About the role

Administers anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures in an operating room, or to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures outside the OR, under the supervision of a faculty member of the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care at the UCSF Medical Center.
