An armed Security Officer III (SOIII) is a state-credentialed position of advanced security experience. An armed SOIII performs security duties to include: protection of guests, patients and staff, their property and company assets. An armed SOII can perform all duties assigned to an SOI or SOII as well as the additional duties: mobile and/or foot patrols, security of psychiatric units, emergency departments, and contract security locations.
An armed SOIII is expected to respond to all types of emergency alarms in accordance with BH policies and procedures, often working with law enforcement during the execution of duties. Additionally, an armed SOIII may be called upon as a Field Training Officer (FTO) or Relief Shift Leader (RSL) in situations where there is a higher ratio of SOIs to FTO/RSLs or other events limit the availability of FTO/RSLs. Armed SOIII Officers will respond to all crimes or acts of violence toward the patient, guest and staff and coordinate with law enforcement during those occurrences.

Able to pass a criminal background performed by the Arkansas State Police 4. Be able to pass a psychological exam 5. Be able to pass a department approved physical fitness assessment 6.
Be interviewed by a panel 7. Must have a current Arkansas Driver's license (military may have a license from their home state) and pass a driver's license check in accordance with the Baptist Health Insurance guidelines; 8. Able to meet the state qualifications to obtain and maintain a security credential; 9.
Must not use any nicotine or tobacco products in any form while on Baptist Health property; 10. Consistantly complete required training to include state mandated training, defensive tactics, MOAB, Oleorsin Capsicum, MRI safety, restraints, PPE, CPR, and signed off on all officer posts for the campus assiged." 11. Been a member of the Baptist Health Security department for a minimum of 2 years and have 7 years of total related experience 12.
Armed SOIII Officers must pass the 40 hrs required firearms training (mandated (16 hrs) firearms training plus another 24 hrs of Baptist Health required firearm training) to include weapons retention; 13. Armed SOIII Officers must attend 40 hrs annually of required firearms training 14. Armed SOIII Officers must pass a yearly firearm qualification with an 80% minimum score.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
