The Assistant Gift Shop Manager is a position that assumes full operational oversight and supervisory duties when the Gift Shop Manager is off-site or unavailable. Scheduled as needed to support the overall day-to-day operations of the Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop from 9:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The duties and responsibilities described below represent the essential functions of the job. Other duties or responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the immediate supervisor and/or leadership within the individual's hierarchy. Maintain an adequate number of volunteers to staff the Gift Shop.
Provide training and prepare the daily schedule, making substitutions as necessary. Provide written and verbal reports regarding Gift Shop activities to the Auxiliary Board Liaison. Conduct physical semi-annual inventory and compare results to the database for accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
Reconcile funds received through daily reports and ensure adequate change is available for all shifts. Pay all invoices by check, electronic transfer, or credit card. Prepare monthly profit and loss statements.
Meet with vendors to purchase merchandise for the Gift Shop. Check in, price, and stock all merchandise in the Gift Shop. Order flowers and plants as needed to stock the cooler and plant stand.
Maintain Gift Shop appearance and cleanliness by dusting, vacuuming, and organizing displays. Rotate inventory to keep products looking new and appealing to customers. Attend buying trips, including the Atlanta Gift Show, when required.
Resolve software problems with Counterpoint and communicate issues effectively with technicians when necessary. Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Material Control - Determines equipment, tools, and supplies to be purchased, stocked, and utilized. Supply Chain Oversight - Oversees the flow, distribution, and storage of equipment, tools, materials, and supplies. Financial Oversight - Plans and manages department budgets.
Safety and Security - Ensures the safety and security of employees and organizational property. Policy Enforcement - Monitors compliance with company policies and addresses violations. Supervises: Volunteers Oversight of Work Level of Supervision Direct & Close: Supervisor or delegate is physically present on the work unit and provides daily, face-to-face direction.
