The unit also provides care for select neuro-medical patients. All team members participate in comprehensive hospital, nursing, and unit-specific orientations designed to support a successful transition into the role. Unit-specific competencies and core skills are completed during the orientation process to ensure confidence and clinical excellence.

Our interdisciplinary team includes Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nursing Assistants (NAs) who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care. Teamwork, communication, and mutual support are the foundation of our unit culture and are essential to maintaining a positive and cohesive work environment. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required. Two years of clinical experience (critical care) Required. Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.

MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required. AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.
