As an Assistant Nurse Manager on out team, you will assist fellow RNs, physicians and medical staff in providing the best possible healthcare experience. Your work will mainly focus on evaluating patient condition, improving unit policies, managing caregiver schedules and welcoming new nurses to the team. A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Support the Nurse Manager with supervising and supporting RNs and other nursing support caregivers. Supervise admissions, conduct assessment of patient's needs and initiate nursing care plans. Evaluate and document patient progress. Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Serve as a liaison between the manager, caregivers and other areas within the organization. Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage. Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives. Assist in orienting new caregivers. Participate in continuing education and in-service educational programs.
for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department Two years of recent clinical nursing experience Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills
