• Provides service to patient either pre-appointment, during or post appointment with regular guidance. Responsibilities may include inbound/outbound telephone calls, cash management, appointment scheduling, process of insurance updates and patient check in/out. . Position Hours Monday - Friday 7:30am - 7:30pm Saturday - Sunday 8:00am - 5:00pm PRN (as needed) Department Summary Vanderbilt Health Walk-In Clinics provide convenient, high-quality urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention. Staffed by a highly trained team of board-certified physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, the clinics diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions such as allergic reactions, animal bites, back pain, bronchitis, minor burns, bug bites, abscesses, and seasonal allergies. Open seven days a week with evening and weekend hours, Vanderbilt Health Walk-In Clinics offer accessible care across multiple Middle Tennessee locations. In addition to urgent care services, clinics provide on-site diagnostic testing and treatment options, including X-rays, EKGs, lab testing, physical exams, vaccinations, drug screenings, blood glucose testing, and other preventive and occupational health services. Patients benefit from seamless access to follow-up care through Vanderbilt Health’s extensive network of primary care providers and specialists. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducts patient check-in and check-out.
• Schedules appointments through clinical communication or direct request.
• Provides positive first impressions utilizing customer service skills.
• Ensures point of service collections.
• Manages reception area, maintains orderly appearance of reception area; ensures method for accountability of each patient check-in; proactively communicates appointment updates with patients.

• Patient Scheduling (Fundamental Awareness): The ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, surgeries and other office visits with various computer systems in the hospital or clinic.

• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): The ability to comprehend medical terminology and documentation in an office, or surgical setting.
