Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner. Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls appropriately. Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate new and recurring patient appointments.
Facilitate efficient patient flow throughout the department. Perform accurate patient registration and maintain demographic and financial records. Obtain and verify insurance information, including eligibility, benefits, and coordination of benefits.
Secure and process prior authorizations as required. Communicate with insurance carriers, payers, and patients to obtain and verify financial information. Assist with the timely and accurate resolution of patient account issues.
Serve as a liaison between patients, rehabilitation staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Provide administrative support to ensure smooth daily clinic operations. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives and operational activities. Order, distribute, and maintain appropriate inventory of department supplies. Monitor and support adherence to departmental productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
Participate in required training related to department equipment, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety. Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma/GED is required.
0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired. Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred. Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS).
