✓Current active licensure by the Department of Health and Environmental Control to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the state of South Carolina or gain SC licensure within 6 months upon selection for position
Certifications
✓Successful completion of the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (BOC) examination
✓Current active certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainer's Association
✓Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
✓Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
Education
Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or other appropriate field preferred
Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Master's degree in athletic training preferred).
Qualifications
✓Participation in continuing education (75 CEU's every 3 years).
✓Ability to maintain a valid drivers license. Computer literacy.
✓Ability to work rotating shifts.
✓Ability to work overtime as required.
✓Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
✓Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
✓Weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events.
To best assist the Sports Medicine and Rehab Services Departments in clinical practice, the Athletic Trainer should have the following qualifications: preferred
Possess previous Orthopaedic experience preferred
Have experience with clinical Orthopaedic operations. preferred

About the role

In this dynamic position, you’ll support the Rehab Services and Sports Medicine Departments while serving Orangeburg County School District student-athletes directly at a high school site. You’ll be a trusted point-of-care professional, delivering prevention, injury management, on-field coverage, rehabilitation, referral guidance, and community outreach for athletes across multiple age groups.
