  • Ponte Vedra Highschool The Athletic Trainer will function under the direction of a physician. Provides services related to the prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, disposition, treatment or rehabilitation of a physically active person who has sustained an injury, illness, or other condition involving sport, exercise, training or related physical activity. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for traveling to area high schools to provide on-site services for practices, sporting events and/or clinic hours, including other duties as assigned. ResponsibilitiesProvides effective outreach athletic training services to local high schools including practice coverage and athletic event coverage, including evaluation, immediate and emergency care, management, treatment or rehabilitation of student athletes. Visits the assigned high schools to provide services, as often as necessary.Practices under the general direction of supervising physician that is involved in the musculoskeletal care of patients. Communicates effectively with medical and rehabilitation team members. Appropriately seeks input from physician involving care decisions, protocols, etc.Implements appropriate emergency and immediate care procedures. Assures proper triage of student athlete injuries to physicians, follow up diagnostics and rehabilitative care.Provides proper documentation of encounters and electronic injury tracking.Provides effective communication with high school student athletes and family, high school coaches, athletic directors and administratorsParticipates in education and training events for local coaches, student athletes and school administrators. Participates in local community education and service events.Pursues opportunities for professional development. Utilizes professional standards of practice and ethics. QualificationsRequired EducationBachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred.Required Licensure/CertificationsFlorida License as Athletic TrainerBoard of Certification for the Athletic TrainerBLS or ACLS from American Heart AssociationRequired ExperienceLess than one year on-field Athletic Training experience Necessary SkillsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAble to recognized problems works systematically and logically to resolve them.Seeks to develop self and othersContributes to a safe environment for student athletes by following established procedures and protocolsStays up to date on evidence informed athletic training practiceAge of Patients Served: Adolescent (13
