Certifications
✓Must be currently certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or be recertified during orientation period.
Qualifications
✓Must be able to read with comprehension and write legibly.
✓Must be able to perform simple arithmetic functions.
✓Must complete an in-hospital training course in addition to general and unit specific orientation.
✓Must have knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in duties related to bedside patient care service
✓understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for patients and in caring for equipment and supplies
✓and good understanding of asepsis and sterile techniques to avoid infection of patients and self or contamination of equipment and supplies.
✓For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential.
✓Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
Prior experience with patient-related care is preferred.
