Description In this role, you will oversee all authorizations team members within the community hematology-oncology practices. Responsible for administrative and revenue cycle analysis as well as coordination of authorizations department services. Salary range: $73,000/year - $149,600/year Qualifications Required: Working knowledge of insurance authorizations and verification process for major medical insurance plans Working knowledge of UCLA Health System’s scheduling and administrative policies and procedures Experience with varied computer software and hardware including: word processing, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, CareConnect, and the internet Typing skills to prepare forms and correspondence with speed and accuracy Possesses strong customer services skills to promote pleasant and effective interactions with patients, staff, and physicians Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 codes and medical office procedures.
General knowledge of oncology procedures and terminology Ability to set priorities and complete assignments in a timely manner under minimal supervision Knowledge of Medical Terminology Advanced organizational skills to ensure a workable, efficient workspace and accomplish established objectives Working knowledge of third party payor verifications terminology to determine benefit eligibility and interpretation of coverage Knowledge of State and Federal programs to ensure reimbursement Skills in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures to recognize alternative solutions Ability to problem solve with personnel/teams while maintaining cooperative working relationships with administrators, physicians, peers, and the public Skills in recognizing an emergency or high priority situation and taking appropriate and immediate action.
