✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Certifications
✓American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Education
✓Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program that will be completed within 5 years of hire.
Qualifications
✓Serve as the central point of coordination for patient placement , ensuring appropriate bed assignments based on acuity and clinical need
✓Collaborate with NICU, PICU, pediatric, and women’s services teams to balance capacity and patient care priorities
✓Provide real-time decision-making and clinical oversight to support safe, efficient patient care.
✓Function as a charge-level resource , supporting staff, resolving operational challenges, and escalating concerns when needed
✓Partner with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, minimize delays, and enhance patient experience
✓Maintain strong situational awareness of unit capacity, staffing, and patient acuity across multiple service lines
✓Contribute to a culture of accountability, communication, and high reliability
✓The pace is fast, the decision-making is critical, and the impact is immediate. Your ability to anticipate needs and coordinate across teams will directly influence both patient outcomes and operational success.
✓RN Clinician 2 or higher who has been employed on the unit for 6 months or has had previous Charge Nurse experience from another unit/organization.
