12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Day and night shift opportunities available. Candidates with the flexibility to work either shift are strongly preferred.
Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician. Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care. Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.
Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns. Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns. Records measures of patients' general physical condition, such as vital signs and blood glucose levels, as ordered.
Orients patients and families to the unit. Identifies early signs of escalation in patients and effectively de-escalates. Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients as required, and monitors patients in restraints according to policy guidelines.
Performs environmental rounds per policy and report unsafe conditions. Manages or assists with daily group activities. Performs other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws [Required]Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records [Required]Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]Education:High School Grad or Equiv [Required]Work
1+ year of position related experience [Preferred]Licenses and
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]Physical
