The Behavioral Health Peer Specialist provides patient-centered services, including individual and group peer support counseling. As an integral member of the care team, the Peer Specialist empowers patients to achieve their behavioral health recovery goals while promoting overall health, wellness, and quality of life.
Provides individual peer mentoring and/or recovery coaching. Participates in outreach and aftercare recovery activities.. Contributes to new member and renewal member campaigns.

A minimum of one (1) year of documented related experience in mental health, substance use, or peer support settings. Experience may be fulfilled through paid employment, volunteer service, peer support training programs, or a combination thereof. Equivalent experience in lived experience with demonstrated peer support engagement may be considered.
Other Information: Must include lived experience of recovery from mental health or substance use disorders. Complete WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training within 6 months of hire. Must obtain the Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) designation within 18 months of hire.
