Wage Transparency The pay range for this position is $127,524.80 (entry-level qualifications) - $197,683.20 (highly experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate’s specific qualifications and prior experience. Job Summary This role will be responsible for leading the application of behavioral science within BSWH’s strategic customer experience portfolio, translating behavioral theory, scientific evidence, and advanced analytics into practical solutions that lead to improvements in customer engagement, health behaviors, and outcomes.
As an internal behavioral science expert and strategic partner, this role will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply behavioral design methodologies that prioritize target behaviors, identify behavioral barriers and facilitators, develop theories of change, design multi-level behavioral interventions, and support the evaluation of their impact. The Manager will support the Behavioral Science Director in establishing and advancing the behavioral science function within BSWH, ensuring scientific rigor, collaboration, and cross-functional alignment.
The Manager may provide oversight and mentorship to other team members as assigned.
of the Role Lead behavioral science support, from discovery through evaluation, for assigned customer experience and digital health initiatives; ensure all success criteria are met within prescribed timelines. Develop behavioral science work plans and roadmaps with cross-functional team members to support the execution and implementation of strategic recommendations. Manage day-to-day activities to achieve deliverables, KPIs, and OKRs of the behavioral science team by delegating appropriate tasks to team members and tracking progress towards goals.
Identify and lead resolution of dependencies, risks, and roadblocks by providing direction and guidance with oversight from the Behavioral Science Director as needed. Support Behavioral Science Director in the engagement of key stakeholders and functions across key deliverables as required. Conduct literature reviews and triangulate findings with internal customer analytics, operational data, and customer research findings to identify behavioral barriers, drivers, and opportunities for intervention.
Conduct advanced statistical analyses to understand behavioral patterns, test hypothesized behavioral models, and support evaluation of behavioral intervention effectiveness. Translate findings to non-scientific audiences. Develop and refine theories of change that identify key psychological, social, environmental, and contextual determinants of behavior, specify modifiable mechanisms of action, and guide the selection of evidence-based behavior change techniques and intervention strategies.
Translate theories of change into logic models that define the pathways linking intervention activities, outputs, behavioral outcomes, and health outcomes. Identify behavioral, methodological, stakeholder, and implementation risks that may affect intervention quality, adoption, or measurable impact. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop behaviorally informed intervention concepts, messaging, workflows, prompts, digital experiences, and service interventions that improve engagement and health-related outcomes.
Develop and govern internal behavioral science frameworks, methodologies, and supporting resources that enable the consistent application and scale of behavioral science across the organization. Key Success Factors Doctoral Degree (PhD, DrPH) in Behavioral Science, Health Psychology, Public Health, Behavioral Economics, or a closely related field strongly preferred. Experience working in digital health preferred.
