As a Billing Specialist, you will manage and maintain professional relationships with assigned payers while working accounts receivable, including denied, unpaid, and outstanding payer balances, to support timely reimbursement and resolution of claims. Responsibilities Review and resolve denied and unpaid claims, correcting billing issues and submitting appeals or claim corrections as needed. Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage to support accurate claim processing and reimbursement.
Communicate with insurance carriers to investigate claim status, resolve payment delays, and document follow-up activities. Assist patients and internal departments with billing inquiries, coordination of benefits, copays, coinsurance, and payer-specific concerns. Research payer overpayment requests and support refund and appeal processes to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
Monitor accounts receivable, aging reports, and late-charge workflows while maintaining quality, productivity, and audit standards.
