You’ll need
Certifications
✓Certified or Certified Eligible Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
✓Assignment to Biomed Clinical Tech (Punchbowl) or Biomed Engineering (West) departments:
✓Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record.
✓Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy.
Education
✓Associate’s degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology
✓or completion of the Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician training program
✓or two (2) years training as a biomedical or electronic technician may be substituted for educational or training program requirement.
Qualifications
✓standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground
✓squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting usual weight of 15 pounds up to 50 pounds
✓pushing/pulling usual weight up to 50 pounds of force
✓carrying usual weight of 15 pounds
✓reaching above, at and below shoulder level
✓repetitive arm/hand motions
✓static gripping of an object for prolonged periods
✓frequent gripping of an object.
✓Operates electronic test equipment, hand and power tools, various office equipment.
✓Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations.
✓In addition to educational requirement, five (5) years work experience as a Biomedical Technician, preferably in a comparable organization.
✓Experience as a lead person or practice in an area of specialized equipment.
