Education
✓Associate's Degree Biomedical Technician required
Qualifications
✓Demonstrates and understands the importance of interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with team members, front line staff and vendors.
✓Understands electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.
✓Ability to learn and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of medical devices involving appropriate test equipment and software diagnostic tools.
✓Ability to learn equipment maintenance, operating procedures, and repair procedures from training materials and courses.
✓Ability to use computer-based tools.

Experience as a biomedical technician. 1-2 years preferred

About the role

Maintains and assists in medical equipment management by installing, calibrating, repairing, and inspecting medical equipment.

Inspects newly acquired medicalInspects newly acquired medical devices and systems for safety and function and attaches and assigns appropriate control numbers and labels to medical devices
Respond to medical equipmentRespond to medical equipment problems in clinical or research areas
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and solveEvaluate, troubleshoot, and solve problems
Makes periodic rounds ofMakes periodic rounds of assigned clinical areas to assess the operation of medical devices and systems
Instructs department and otherInstructs department and other equipment technical staff on testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and medical equipment repair
