Breast Imaging Fellow - Radiology

✓Requirements
Licensure
✓New finishing residents generally are not expected to be board-certified but should be board-certified within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Office of Medical Administration.
✓MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
✓Board eligible or Board certified in diagnostic radiology by the beginning of fellowship
Certifications
✓BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
Education
✓We are currently accepting applications for 1-year breast imaging fellowships at Denver Health, an academic health care system affiliate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, for the academic year 2027-2028.
✓Graduation from an accredited medical school and completed accredited radiology residency program.
✓A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
✓Eligible to be on the medical staff at Denver Health and for a “instructor fellow” appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine
Qualifications
✓Summer Wahrman
✓Fellowship Coordinator
✓Equivalent training for those physicians who are not U.S. residency trained.
✓Experience: Requirements will be determined on a position-by-position basis.
✓Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
✓Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
✓Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
✓Able to receive detailed information through oral communications
✓express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
✓Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
✓Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
✓Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
✓Knowledge of core diagnostic radiology principals
✓General skills related to the interpretation of general diagnostic radiology examinations, as would be expected/required at the completion of a diagnostic radiology residency. Skills related to teaching medical students, residents, and other trainees.
✓Ability to work full shifts, as assigned

About the role

There are numerous educational resources available to support trainee education including a dedicated lecture series, use of breast imaging learning modules, multidisciplinary breast rotations (visiting rotations on breast surgery, pathology, and oncology services) and routine rad-path conferences. As integral members of the section, fellows participate in the supervision and education of residents on service.
