The Cardiac Sonographer I performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular disease. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort, maintaining ultrasound equipment, and supporting the daily operations of the echocardiography lab. You'll perform a variety of cardiac imaging studies while collaborating closely with cardiologists to provide accurate diagnostic information and exceptional patient care.

Perform comprehensive diagnostic echocardiographic examinations for patients of all ages. Perform:Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE)Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)Stress EchocardiogramsUtilize advanced cardiac imaging techniques, including:M-ModeTwo-Dimensional Imaging (2D)DopplerColor DopplerEvaluate cardiac anatomy and physiology while recognizing normal and abnormal findings. Obtain complete patient histories and clinical information to ensure appropriate imaging protocols.

Generate preliminary measurements and quantitative analysis for physician interpretation. Acquire, store, and manage digital echocardiographic images within the imaging system. Collaborate closely with cardiologists to ensure optimal image quality and accurate diagnostic results.

Recognize and promptly communicate critical findings, including:Aortic DissectionCardiac TamponadeEndocarditisPulmonary HypertensionOther life-threatening cardiac abnormalitiesMonitor patient safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout each examination. Assist with daily echocardiography lab operations, equipment maintenance, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with ICAEL accreditation standards and departmental policies.

Report equipment issues and assist in maintaining a safe, organized clinical environment.
