Job Details The Cardio Thoracic Technologist is responsible for moderately complex Point of Care Laboratory testing.
Cardiovascular functions and tasks associated with the performance of routine duties as they relate to patients experiencing surgical and peri-surgical procedures. Assisting Anesthesiologist with patient monitoring, and invasive line insertions. Knowledge of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump to assist upon insertion, monitoring and maintenance.
Familiar with sterile procedures and the OR environment Overseeing and Supervising Laboratory Technicians insuring the proper performance of laboratory procedures The Stocking of supplies for Cardio-Thoracic Anesthesia, CT Lab, and invasive line carts for CTICU. Area of services provided by the CT Lab: OR, PACU, CTICU. Participates in the “on call” schedule.
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university preferred NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, ASCP preferred BLS required Basic computer skills Able to perform moderately complex testing 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience preferred subsequent to qualifying of which at least two years have been spent working in a clinical laboratory, having a director at the doctoral level Posted Salary Range USD $71.77 - USD $71.77 /Hr.
