Responsible for the set-up and operation of the heart-lung machine to assume the functions of patient organs during surgery.
Responsible for the set-up and operation of the heart-lung machine to assume the functions of patient organs during surgery Operates extracorporeal circulation and auto transfusion equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or temporarily replace the patient's circulatory or respiratory function Supports the physiological and metabolic needs of the cardiac surgical patient so that the cardiac surgeon may operate Responsible for the circulatory and respiratory functions of the heart-lung machine Participates in procurement of cardiothoracic donor organs for transplant Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion training program required Bachelor's degree in perfusion technology preferred Minimum of 3 years' perfusion experience Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation Working Conditions: Must be able to maintain a standing and position Typical equipment used in a clinical job Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs About Kootenai Health: Kootenai Health is a highly esteemed healthcare organization serving patients throughout northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.
