The Care Access Representative supports the UNC Dermatology Department, a fast-paced, team-oriented, patient-centered specialty practice dedicated to delivering exceptional dermatologic care. This role is a key member of the Care Access team, helping patients access timely care and supporting providers, clinical staff, and operational workflows across multiple dermatology subspecialties. This full-time hybrid position requires working onsite every other month, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
A hybrid schedule will follow a successful completion of training and onboarding.
1. Ensures excellent customer service by consistently demonstrating a caring, positive, professional, and helpful disposition with all customer relations in a busy, high call work environment. Meets call quality standards. 2.
Ensures and verifies key patient information (insurance verification, patient and guarantor demographics, etc.) is current and accurate to ensure patient safety, charging, coding, insurance processing, and billing accuracy. Follows patient scheduling established workflows in Epic. 3. Answers telephones, directs calls, place outbound calls, and take and deliver telephone encounters in Epic. 4.
Schedules for all new and follow-up patient appointments as required for a subset of clinics. Attempts to reschedule cancellations whenever possible. 5. Enhances co-worker satisfaction by being self-motivated, a positive communicator, a team player, and a willing and approachable resource to other co-workers 6.
