The care manager supervisor serves as both the clinical and administrative leader of the care management department. The care manager supervisor oversees the daily practice of nursing, social work, interpretive services, and resource coordination. The care management supervisor coordinates and supervises the care of pediatric patients and collaborates with other members of the health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate interventions.
The care manager supervisor assists in planning, evaluating, organizing, supervising and implementing activities related to patient and operational processes in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and in alignment with the standards of practice set forth by the American Nurses Association, the American Academy of Ambulatory Nurses, and the American Case Management Standards.
Key
Oversees patient care to ensure care is safe, efficient, optimal, and aligns with evidence-based practice, regulatory guidelines, and professional standards of practice. Coordinates and implements a staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage and provision of patient care. Promotes engagement and purpose with staff.
Active participation or support of assigned committees, meetings, or projects. Recommends changes to policies, procedures, and department environment to enhance the department’s ability to provide optimum service to all clients. Evaluates and takes action to assure clinical competency of nursing staff.
Identifies and actively participates in performance improvement. Participates in the interview process for selecting new team members. Provides for and evaluates the quality of patient care through direct observation, chart reviews, feedback surveys, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Coordinates and evaluates onboarding training and competencies. Serves as a clinical resource to staff. Assists the staff in resolving patient care challenges.
Coordinates emergency preparedness of the department. Assists in The Joint Commission readiness. Coordinates and implements department staffing and scheduling requirements.
Supports the philosophy, objectives, and policies of Shriners Children’s. Required
BSN or Bachelors in Social Work 2 years Care Management experience RN or Social Work License in state of practice ACM or CCM Certification required within 2 years of hire
Masters degree in related field Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
