T o construct and maintain furniture, room renovations, structural woodwork, flooring, etc. of performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, overhaul and construction duties. Knowledgeable in the use of power tools and equipment. Uses the proper tool for the job.
Inspects and repairs, installs fire doors, frames, hardware, gutters and roof areas. Calculates types and quantities of materials needed for construction and repair work and requisitions supplies. Accurately measures and cuts wood, sheet metal etc for various jobs.
Installs and replaces ceiling tiles and ceiling grids Reads and follows drawings and blueprints in minor construction projects. Completes work accurately and in a timely manner. Maintains current fire safety card Completes annual Inservice Builds, repairs and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, flooring, installs and repairs doors and bucks, performs hospital inspections, makes picture frames, install and cuts Plexiglas and glass for window replacement, studs walls and etc.
Order material and maintains inventory Performs activities such as bench sawing, sanding, nailing planes, all related power tools and equipment. Able to sketch out building plan for cabinets, room design, etc. May assist in other trade areas as required by the department.
Performs project construction type work. Performs all other duties as required. Position
This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years job-related experience or related trade school. Union: BCTC Mon - Fri: 8am -5pm Hourly Rate:$33.7403
