The Carpenter II p a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } erforms skilled journeyman-level carpentry work involving the construction, maintenance, repair, and renovation of building structures and fixtures. Responsibilities include repairing and installing doors, windows, flooring, partitions, stairways, and other building components; constructing cabinets, furniture, shelves, tables, and specialized wood products; performing shop work and flooring installation; maintaining and repairing tools; estimating labor and material needs; and completing other assigned duties.

Provides skilled craftsmanship as a journeyman carpenter in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair of building structures. Position Key Accountabilities: Performs general carpentry work in alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, roods, stairways, partition, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures and furniture. Builds cabinets of various sizes and designs, builds tables, doors, shelves, bookcases and a wide variety of specialized laboratory articles of wood.
Performs skills bench work in shop, hands doors and windows, lay linoleum and tile floors. Cleans, sharpens, and repairs hand and bench tools. Makes estimates of time and material required for assigned tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills: Must have effective communication skills. Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
Driver License (DL) by State of Texas required Minimum

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive: This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
