✓Current North Carolina Driver’s License CPI Certification (Can be obtained after hire) Knowledge and Skills: Strong case management and discharge planning skills.
✓Understanding military culture and the unique needs of service members, veterans, and their families.
✓Sound professional judgment and appropriate escalation of concerns.
✓The candidate is comfortable coordinating across multiple systems, proactively addressing barriers, maintaining strong communication with professional partners, and helping military-connected patients transition successfully to the next level of care.
Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a highly organized and relationship-focused professional who understands that successful military behavioral-health programming extends beyond the inpatient treatment episode.
Education
✓Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field required. Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral-health discipline preferred.
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment resources.
✓Strong verbal and written communication skills.
✓Ability to establish effective relationships with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners.
✓Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
✓Ability to manage multiple patient needs and competing priorities.
✓Knowledge of confidentiality, patient privacy, and professional boundaries.
✓Ability to document accurately and within established timeframes.
✓Ability to work effectively in a structured, multidisciplinary behavioral-health environment.
Previous case management, behavioral health, substance use treatment, healthcare, or social services experience preferred.
Experience working with military service members, veterans, military families, or military-affiliated organizations is strongly preferred.
Experience providing discharge planning and coordinating community resources preferred.
