The Cashier performs cash handling functions and serves customers in cafeteria and/or coffee shop. Builds positive customer satisfaction. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities General Functions: Promotes customer service and building rapport with customers in cafeteria/coffee shop Sets up cafeteria/coffee shop for service Stocks cafeteria/coffee shop to maintain appropriate inventory levels Operates cash register in cafeteria/coffee shop Checks all transactions/food orders (content and portion size) Maintains cleanliness of cafeteria/coffee shop Performs cash close out procedures always following established procedures Assures timely service in cafeteria/coffee shop Chops, slices, peels food items for special order foods Functions as a grill cook if needed.
Adheres to all BHS safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards Assures all foods are correctly label/dated/rotated when handled and put away Transports food to other areas as needed Operates, cleans, sanitizes dishes and necessary equipment Sweeps/mops areas of the department Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively Maintains safe environment Participates in Performance Improvement activities MINIMUM
Able to read, write and understand the English language. PREFERRED
High School Graduate or equivalent MINIMUM
1 year’s food and/or customer service experience PREFERRED
Previous cashier and customer service experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District #LI-JH5
