Description

The Cast Technician provides specialized orthopedic technical and clinical support within a specialty clinic setting. The role applies, modifies, repairs, and removes casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices under the direction of a physician or other qualified healthcare provider. The role performs Medical Assistant functions to support patient intake, examinations, treatments, procedures, documentation, and efficient clinic operations.

The position works collaboratively with physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, Medical Assistants, and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, coordinated, and age-appropriate care to patients and families. Experience2 years of experience providing clinical support as a Medical Assistant or Cast Technician including patient assessments, performing orthopedic casting, splinting, bracing, or related experience is required.

EducationHigh school diploma or GED required. Licensure, Registration, and/or CertificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
