UTHealth Houston's Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging is hiring a Casual Research Assistant I! The Department of Radiology at UTHealth Houston is seeking a casual Research Assistant to support a faculty-led clinical research program. This position averages approximately 13 hours per week and is funded through a dedicated research endowment.
The role offers valuable mentorship and hands-on experience in clinical research, manuscript development, scientific publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities. This is a clinical research position, not a laboratory-based role. It is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing careers in medicine, radiology, research, or academia and seeking to gain experience working closely with a faculty member on ongoing research projects.

The Research Assistant I, under general supervision, conducts basic/ translational research which may include animal work and other activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all of the following: handling biological samples, laboratory experiments and activities, and data collection. Position Key Accountabilities: Under general supervision, supporta research objectives.
Collects, organize and prepares research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed. Maintains work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Orders supplies as directed by senior research staff. Stays abreast of new and updated procedures and protocols for the research. Must maintain compliance with required training.
May participate in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops. As needed, may coordinate the work of technicians to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results. Performs other duties as assigned.
