Catering Associate - Dietary

Responsible for patient food service on assigned units; menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up special requests and needs in between meal and food delivery. Key Responsibilities Assembles trays, places menu ticket on tray and delivers in a timely and accurate manner. Completes patient daily rounds to ensure patients’ needs are met.

Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Daily prepares salad bar, inventories stock, restocks medical floor, emergency room, and physician lounge. Records daily refrigerator temperatures & if out of range notifies supervisor.

Demonstrates initiative in increasing skills and attends training programs as available, cross training when requested. Follows appropriate guidelines for par levels (inventory items) for pantry areas, supplements and menu ordering. Interacts daily with Nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate and patients’ food needs are met.

Reviews menu selections prior to each meal & complies with dietary restrictions on modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within the guidelines of the diet order limitations. Performs other tasks that promote teamwork, supports goals (assists with special functions, etc.). Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned floors.

Maintains a clean, sanitary work environment.
