- Our Team? The CSS is responsible for scheduling, pre-registration, and pre-authorization prior to the patients’ visit. Ensures all necessary referrals, authorizations and/or pre-certifications are in place prior to patient's scheduled appointment. Acts as the first point of contact when patients call into the department to schedule appointments.
Answers inbound telephone calls in a professional, timely and efficient manner. Retrieves all messages from the answering service and returns patients’ calls within 24 hours of the message. Speaks with patients using clear and professional language, and proactively resolves patient concerns/issues.
Strictly adheres to scheduling guidelines and clinical protocols during all patient interactions. Obtains demographic and insurance information for accurate patient accounts. Verifies insurance eligibility, identifies patients in need of financial counseling, and secures patients’ accounts prior to the scheduled date of service.
Responsible for adding HAR to patients’ account and scanning all documents in the patient’s account using On-Base. Works with Clinical staff and Providers to confirm and expedite scheduling of services and streamlining the registration process to include collection of co-payments as outlined for each insurance payer. Schedule follow-up appointments at check-out, per recommendation of the Provider.

What We Require for this Role: Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Coding or Medical Terminology certification preferred.
Knowledge of government reimbursement and commercial/managed care insurance regulations. Related Work Experience Minimum of two years hospital or physician office registration and scheduling or medically related call center.
