Licensure
✓Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
✓PALS certification (required for the Pediatric Specialty Program)
Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse – CRRN (preferred)
Program-specific certifications (i.e., CPN, CBIS) (preferred)
Education
✓Associate’s Degree in in Nursing (ADN) (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
Qualifications
✓Two (2) years of experience in rehab nursing (required)
✓Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities critical to this role:
✓Understands and implements recent clinical practice guidelines for specific diagnoses requiring rehabilitative care
✓Effectively and efficiently delivers patient care across the lifespan in accordance with regulations and guidelines established by the Kentucky Board of Nursing
✓Demonstrates effective time management and adjusts schedule as needed to meet patient care demands and specialty program priorities
✓Able to identify areas for improvement, appropriately communicates concerns, and independently seeks solutions
✓Seeks constructive feedback and adjusts accordingly
✓Effectively works alongside a team of providers from a variety of disciplines in both small and large group settings
✓Demonstrates skills in diplomacy and relationship building to promote a positive team environment
✓Maintains thorough, efficient, and compliant clinical documentation in an electronic medical records system
✓Adapts easily to changing technology platforms and virtual learning features
More than two (2) years in rehab nursing and experience with the designated specialty population (preferred)
