Summary MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. We are looking for a certified medical assistant to perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes who assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

• What You’ll Do As a Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating an exceptional experience for every patient by:
• Welcoming and interviewing patients while gathering medical history.
• Measuring and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
• Preparing treatment rooms and assisting providers during patient examinations.
• Maintaining accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort, privacy, and professionalism.
• Communicating effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.
• Maintaining annual competencies and supporting a safe, efficient clinical environment.
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support the success of the practice. Additional

• What We’re Looking For Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• One year of patient care experience preferred. Required Certifications Candidates must hold one of the following

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Through one of these nationally recognized organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) MedCA National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Additional Requirements
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
