Certified Medical Assistant Care Guide

✓Requirements
Certifications
✓CMA-Certified Medical Assistant current certification by one the following approved certifying agencies : American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credential.
✓American Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credential.
✓National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credential.
✓National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential.
✓American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date.
✓National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
✓American Allied Health (AAH).
✓Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with an electronic health record and phlebotomy.
Education
✓High school diploma/GED and completion of a medical assistant (MA) program, certification course, or equivalent MA training/experience.
Qualifications
✓Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
✓Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
✓Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
✓This position requires specific knowledge and training related to the performance of administrative skills, technical / clinical skills and medical procedures commonly performed in a medical practice setting.
✓Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of Epic. Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette. Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.
