This position primarily serves as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), providing direct support to the provider and ensuring high-quality patient care.
What You’ll Do: Triage and prepare patients for medical examinations. Administer medications, perform lab testing, and assist with procedures. Maintain clean and well-stocked treatment areas.
Assist with referrals, preauthorizations, and scheduling when needed. Adhere to all HCHD safety, security, and compliance standards Support nursing and front office staff as required Communicate professionally with patients and staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance Educate and counsel patients on treatments, medications, and testing Record and update patient history, medications, and vital signs in the EMR
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Current CMA certification Current LVN license Current BLS certification Valid Texas driver’s license Preferred: 1+ year clinical experience Experience with billing, coding, or insurance preauthorization Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or other EHR software Skills & Abilities: Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Excellent customer service and teamwork Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Physical
