Highpoint Health Partners with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA ) to join our Pulmonology Clinic in Winchester, Tennessee. The CMA will support providers by assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, documentation, and daily office operations to ensure exceptional patient experience.
and Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints. Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and procedures. Perform clinical tasks within scope, including injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments. Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients as directed.
Maintain adequate supplies and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked. Follow infection prevention, safety, and HIPAA guidelines. Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff.
Qualifications Required: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification. High school diploma or equivalent. Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
Strong communication and organizational skills. Preferred: Previous experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or pulmonology setting. Experience with EMR systems.
Knowledge of insurance verification and referrals. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive motions and assist with patient care activities.
