Provides personal care assistance to patients under the direction of licensed personnel and /or Administrator. Responsibilities Performs direct patient care duties as assigned. Rooming of patients during clinic hours, including obtaining and documenting vital signs as needed Assist Registered Nurses (RN) with implementing and monitoring of treatment plans to support coordinated patient care Obtain test results, surgical clearance documentation, and other clinical records as needed Possesses the ability to perform day to day clerical task and related duties Participates in ongoing educational activities Maintains exam room medical supplies and support the upkeep of clinical sterilization equipment Completes FMLA documentation for review by RN's and MD's Completes assigned goals Other duties as assigned Experience Minimum Required: Minimum of one year experience working in a clinical setting Preferred/Desired: Experience working in a general surgery clinical practice Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties Education and Licensure Minimum Required High School Diploma CMA Certification from an accredited certification body (or certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date) BLS certification within 14 days of hire Preferred/Desired Ability to speak Spanish Experience working in EPIC EMR system
