✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse substitutes for the experience required for the full performance level.
Certifications
✓One (1) year of work experience as an EMT or Paramedic substitutes for the experience required for the full performance level.
✓Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) from the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
✓Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
✓Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
✓or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) must be obtained at time of appointment.
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
✓Applicable checks may include, but are not limited to, state and federal criminal history records, child abuse and neglect registry check, adult protective services registry and sex offender registry records, etc. If a job offer is made or employment is begun prior to completion of all applicable ch
Education
✓Completion of a professional nursing curriculum from an accredited school substitutes for the experience required for the entry level.
Qualifications
✓One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience as a Medical Assistant in an Outpatient Clinic or similar health institution setting assisting professional licensed clinical staff in the provision of care to outpatient patients.
✓Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of emergency medical practices, techniques and procedures
✓functional anatomy and human physiology.
✓Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under the federal law for unrestricted employment and at the time of appointment intend to reside in the State of Hawaii during the course of employment with the Hawaii Health Systems Co
✓VETERAN’S PREFERENCE: If you are claiming Veteran’s Preference, you must submit a copy of your DD214 and/or other substantiating documents specifying the periods of your service.
