✓Current State of RI Midwifery Licensure and controlled substance registration required.
Certifications

2 years' clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife preferred.
Education
✓Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
Qualifications
✓Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and sensitivity to cultural diversity in each step of the care process.
✓Must have patient care services, procedures and privileges approved by the sponsoring physician.

About the role

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) works under the general supervision of the physician and in collaboration with the Senior Certified Nurse Midwife.

What you’ll do
Diagnoses, monitors and examinesDiagnoses, monitors and examines women during pregnancy
Arranges and provides parentingArranges and provides parenting and health education for the woman, her partner and family members
Encourages participation of familyEncourages participation of family members in the birth to support the mother and enhance both mother/baby bonding and family relationships
Offers support and adviceOffers support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality and neonatal death, co-managing the care for women undergoing these complications with the obstetricians
