You’ll need
Certifications
✓Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED).
✓Must be certified and registered with the State of Tennessee, Division of Health Care Facilities, as a Nurse Aide upon initial placement into a CNA position.
✓Must be currently certified and registered as above when placed into a CNA position after working in a non-CNA position for more than one (1) year.
✓Must be currently certified (or scheduled for certification or recertification training according to department guidelines) in CPR/Provider C.
Education
✓Must have successfully completed a hospital-approved formal training program or equivalent.
✓Must have work experience as a nursing assistant or must have completed at least one semester of clinical and class work in an approved nursing program.
Qualifications
✓Must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform basic arithmetic computations.
✓Must have understanding and knowledge of patient care which may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants.
✓Must exhibit basic knowledge of setting up and maintaining traction.
✓For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential.
✓Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
✓One year experience strongly preferred.
